S.G. ORIGINALS JEWELRY and COSMIC CREATIONS
JEWELRY DESIGNED WITH THE INDIVIDUAL IN MIND
Have you ever been mysteriously drawn to a certain type of stone or felt a little different when holding it?  Blood Red Cornelian, Quartz Crystal or perhaps, Tigers Eye?  If the answer is yes, you are not alone.

For thousands of years, just as humans have looked to the stars and constellations seeking guidance, people have valued the use of natural stone in their everyday lives.  Some believe certain stones have the power to heal, bring good fortune, promote prosperity, help crops grow, provide protection and even, foretell the future.

Do you know the 5 virtues of Jade?  They are courage, wisdom, charity, modesty and justice. Occurring in a wide variety of colors, it is believed to give protection against kidney disease. Do you know Opal is said to bring misfortune to its wearer?  That is unless, it is the wearers birthstone.  The word Turquoise means “Turkish Stone”, because the trade route used long ago bringing it to Europe was via Turkey. In ancient times Malachite was used to cure vomiting and protect children from witches and dragons.  Cornelian was thought to still the blood, soften anger and guard against depression and idiocy.  A rare stone called Staurolite, usually passed from magician to student, was said to have supernatural powers, enabling its wearer to shape shift.  Hawks Eye, the mother stone to Tigers Eye, was thought to give the gift of  “far sight”, opening a path, allowing the wearer to see into the future.  Quartz Crystal is thought to have healing powers and Amethyst, with its supernatural powers, can bring luck, ensure constancy and protect against magic, homesickness and drunkenness. Amber is considered a cure for various illnesses. Jasper, worn as an amulet, protects against sight disturbances and drought. Hematite, worn as an amulet, protects against bleeding. Chalcedony is a talisman against idiocy and depression. Also, in ancient times, Malachite, Turquoise and many other earth minerals were used in powder form for color in face and body make up as well as in artists paint.

The Symbol known as the Pentagram
This symbol is a five pointed star, usually within a circle. The points represent elements without which life would be impossible. The first four elements are fire, water, air and earth. The fifth represents the human spirit. In ancient times healers used this symbol in conjunction with herbal and natural medicine.
